This IP training is held by the China IPR SME Helpdesk and the Belgian Embassy. This training concerns mainly creative industry, covering the following topics:
How does copyright work in China?
How can a company protect itself in a business relationship with a Chinese partner?
What kind of contract should they use to ensure protection while signing with a Chinese partner?

Ms Shengyu Qin, the Project Officer of the China IPR SME Helpdesk, will deliver a comprehensive presentation about the structure and main services of the Helpdesk.
Speakers/IP Experts, Sunny Su, Senior Associate of Lusheng Law Firm and Ross Parsonage, Senior Consultant of Rouse, will share their expertise on mentioned IP topics, introduce the methods of self-protection in the Chinese market in an inclusive and catchy way, and provide practical IP tips on copyright, international partnership and IP protection on contractual issues. Sunny SuSenior Associate of Lusheng Law FirmSunny Su joined Lusheng in 2014 as an associate with the Dispute Resolution Team and is a practicing Chinese attorney-at-law. Before joining Lusheng, she worked for renowned US and UK firms for more than twelve years after graduated from Northwestern University, Renmin University and Peking University.Ms. Su’s practice focuses on IP prosecution, contentious and non-contentious protection in China. She has particular expertise in IP commercials, including technology import-export, franchise, assignment, licensing, non-compete and various commercialization agreements etc. She also keeps providing consulting services on the regulatory landscape for data and compliance within China. Representing numerous multinational corporations, Ms. Su has experience in entertainment and media laws and practice.
Ross ParsonageSenior Consultant of RouseRoss is a Senior Consultant in the Rouse Consultancy Practice and is responsible for managing Rouse’s research and analytics team as well as developing its business intelligence capabilities.Ross holds a Master’s degree in Technology and Intellectual Property Law from the University of Liverpool, UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance Law from Brunel University, UK. Before rejoining Rouse at the beginning of 2018 he was a Director in the Forensic and Litigation Consulting Practice of FTI Consulting, an independent global business advisory firm listed on the New York Stock Exchange.Ross specialises in managing complex research and consulting assignments involving the strategic management of intellectual property, business and market intelligence, compliance, brand integrity and other risk consulting services. For over ten years, he was responsible for leading the IP portfolio and brand protection strategies for a number of leading multi-national confectionary, pet nutrition, pharmaceutical, technology, healthcare, apparel and manufacturing companies in China.
