Event Type: Webinar
Date: 7 October; 10:00 - 11:30 (CET)
The EU and China are two of the world’s largest trading partners. There is a mutual interest in keeping trade relations healthy and strong. For European SMEs that want to do business in China it is incredibly important to understand that the IP system protecting there products and innovations is different. This webinar is a cooperation between the China IPR SME Helpdesk and CEIPI. Both share the same mission: support European Union (EU) small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to both protect and enforce their Intellectual Property rights. This webinar will introduce the China and European IP systems and highlight their differences. Rather than being a very legalistic webinar this is an introductory webinar for SMEs that want to understand how IP applies to their product in Europe, but especially in a complicated third markets such as China. In doing so, the webinar introduces the different types of IP (e.g. trademarks, patents, utility models) in Europe and China and will provide practical tips on the protection of IP in China which will be illustrated by means of concrete case studies. The China IPR SME Helpdesk Team Leader, Simon Cheetham will attend the live session and provide more details on the IP specificities of the Chinese market.
