In May 2017, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation that China will hold China International Import Expo (CIIE) starting from 2018. As the world's first import-themed national expo, CIIE is the trade fair for the Chinese government to give firm support to trade liberalization and economic globalization and actively open the Chinese market to the world.
At the 2nd CIIE in 2019, CIIE saw a total of 181 countries, regions, and international organizations participate in the expo, and more than 3,800 enterprises participated in the exhibition. Meanwhile, a total of 71.13 billion U.S. dollars worth of tentative deals were reached for a year's purchase of goods and services during the last CIIE, an increase of 23 per cent from 2018
The China IPR SME Helpdesk IP Business Advisor will attend the No.3rd CIIE to approach EU SME exhibitors presenting its free services and answering any enquiries by the exhibitors.
